Dr George Tiller, controversial pioneer of third-trimester abortions, was assassinated in 2009 by an extreme pro-life activist. This haunting film delicately chronicles the confronting work of a tiny group of doctors in America who are attempting to carry on his legacy. Facing threats to their lives, unrelenting attacks by the unscrupulous anti-abortion movement and continuous ethical dilemmas, they extend their compassion to women in situations ranging from carrying extreme foetal abnormalities to blatant denial. This tumultuous world unfolds through elegant observation and interview in all its heart-wrenching emotion and tragedy.
