Obsessed with searching for the origins of a famous scene known as ‘The Image of Happiness’ from Chris Marker’s classic essay film Sans Soleil, an Australian man and his friend visit Iceland. Punk rock, politics, and elves provide the backdrop to his search. Wandering across the tiny Nordic island with its complex political system, mystical histories, and otherworldly landscapes, he begins to find answers – but where will they lead him and at what personal and psychological cost?
