This documentary will have you squirming in your seats! Bugs seeks to enlighten western audiences to the nutritional and environmental benefits of eating insects. We join two adventurous food researchers from gastronomic entrepreneur Rene Redzepi’s (Noma) Nordic Food Lab as they travel to the countries where eating insects is common practice. This documentary burrows deeply into issues of food security and the realities of needing to produce 70% more protein on 30% less farmland to feed an ever-increasing, hungry population. As the tagline suggests, “The answer to feeding the world’s expanding population may be smaller than you think.” Dung beetle grub stew, anyone?
