Cold Case Hammarskjöld
In 1961, Secretary General of the UN Dag Hammarskjöld died in a plane crash in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia); it was immediately suspected that he was assassinated. Hammarskjöld was a highly controversial figure due to his support for decolonising Africa, and at the time of his death he was en route to negotiate peace talks during the Congo Crisis. Parachuting himself into the centre of the mystery is documentarian and provocateur Mads Brügger (The Ambassador, Antenna 2012). With the assistance of Swedish investigator Göran Björkdahl, Brügger sets out to investigate, in his inimitable style. Criss-crossing the continent searching for meagre scraps of truth, the answers they eventually uncover are far more horrific than anyone could have imagined.
