Sowon Kang has recently been appointed to the position of Head Programmer of the Wide-Angle section at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival, responsible for curating outstanding shorts, documentaries, and experimental films that offer broad cinematic viewpoints and a distinct vision. Founded in 1996, the Busan IFF is widely regarded among both industry executives and critics as one of the most important cinema-related events of the year. In this talk Sowon will discuss the history and significance of the Festival, offer insights into the programming process and highlight special opportunities for filmmakers.
