Bob’s car has been stolen, and when it finally turns up in Detroit, Bob travels from New Orleans to claim it. In the car Bob finds an old notebook belonging to Bill, filled with numbers, odd drawings, and boasts about a series of cons. Bob goes in search of the elusive Bill, following the notebook’s clues across America’s vast landscape and meeting some truly memorable characters. But is anyone really who they say they are? The line between drama and documentary blurs as smaller stories are woven together to create an enigmatic road movie. What is clear is that all the characters are seemingly searching for the same thing – what’s left of the America Dream.
