Ron Book is a man with resources. Choking back tears as he recounts his daughter’s sexual assault at the hands of the nanny, he is nonetheless fierce – as the most powerful lobbyist in Florida, he put those resources to use enacting the toughest sex offender laws in the US. Untouchable presents a forensically researched analysis of this emotive, hot button topic. While telling some of the horrific stories of the abused, the film also examines some of the 800,000 affected by the laws. Many have been forced out of their homes, and reintegration into society becomes nearly impossible. This is an unflinching, compelling exploration of one of the most challenging social problems imaginable, presenting a side so often unseen.
