Work Hard, Play Hard is a patient yet intriguingly layered road movie showcasing the workplace of tomorrow. From innovative office architecture that is supposed to cater to every emotion and task of the employee, to the digital registration of employees’ personality traits, the human has become the focus of modern management practice. The film explores the corporation’s eternal search for the holy grail of worker efficiency, turning the workers into resources in the process. What seems like a (social) science-fiction film is also an intelligent and darkly satirical documentary that shows how the working man has entered the matrix of a total working world.
