Call for Submissions (2021)
2021 marks the Antenna Documentary Film Festival’s 10th anniversary (!) and we couldn’t be more excited to announce that submissions are now open. The festival will take place 14–24 October 2021 in cinemas across Sydney, Australia. Antenna accepts documentaries of all subject matter and styles in two different categories:
Best Feature Documentary Competition – $10,000 Cash Prize
The Best Feature Documentary Competition celebrates documentary filmmaking from around the world, accepting submissions from both international and Australian filmmakers. Films must have a runtime of 60 minutes or more. The winning filmmaker will receive a $10,000 AUD cash prize.
Best Australian Short Documentary Competition – $5,000 Cash Prize
The Best Australian Short Documentary Competition celebrates the best Australian documentary short films, and is open to productions from Australia only. Films must have a runtime of 30 minutes or less. We have partnered with the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) to offer the winning filmmaker a cash prize of $5,000 AUD, as development funding for their next project.
Australian films with a runtime over 30 minutes but less than 60 minutes are welcome to submit as an Australian Short Documentary, but will only be considered to screen outside of competition.
