Tiger on the Rocks retells the well-known story of the ‘Tassie Tiger’ from the perspective of Indigenous groups, scientists and archaeologists. In stunning landscapes across Australia where Thylacines once roamed, people from wide-ranging traditions share their experiences: Indigenous artists, rangers and custodians; biologists, bone hunters and archaeologists. Multiple insights coalesce to throw light on Australia’s most wanted animal. Listening to their voices while following in the footprints of the Thylacine, the film is not only a tribute to a lost species but also a call to respect the connection between human and animal, culture, nature and country.
