IN LOVING MEMORY OF SUSAN MACKINNON
The Antenna community is saddened by the passing of Susan MacKinnon, a lifelong champion of Australian documentary and a generous supporter of the festival.
A founding member of the Australian International Documentary Conference and a co-founder of the Documentary Australia Foundation, Susan also held senior roles at the Australian Film Finance Corporation and the South Australian Film Corporation.
Across a three-decade career as an independent producer, her films screened internationally, including Paul Kelly – Stories of Me, Honeybee Blues, and Global Haywire. Susan’s contributions to the field were profound and transformative.
Susan’s spirit, her infectious enthusiasm, and commitment to documentary will remain with us. She championed, guided and befriended so many in the community. I will cherish the memory of her joyful laughter and immense generosity.
